Quote of the day
It says something pretty cool about our country that, when caught using an unfortunate choice of words, it's considered an excellent defense to say "No, no, no! What I was trying to do was insult the intelligence of our leader!"

I was so pissed off that he apologized at all. When at first he fired back at republicans, saying they were twisting his words, and then criticized them for not ever wearing the uniform, I was so proud, wishing we would have seen that kind of "take no shit" offensive attitude a couple of years ago. But I guess given the flack he received from his own party, he felt he had to.
I think my future husband Keith Olbermann said it best... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15519404/
He even references the Sumners Brooks affair! You can't get any cooler than that...
Very well put. My favorite lines:
"You are merely a politician whose entire legacy will have been a willingness to make anything political; to have, in this case, refused to acknowledge that the insult wasn’t about the troops, and that the insult was not even truly about you either, that the insult, in fact, is you."
