O to be in England

Yesterday was M. Defarge's birthday. To celebrate, we ventured out with our umbrellas to Hopleaf for mussels and frites and Belgian beer. Then we topped it off with homemade pie and ice cream and a couple of episodes of Gavin and Stacey. Between the weather, the mussels (reminiscent the ones we had at Belgo Centraal in Covent Garden), and the British TV, I'm feeling very ready for another European vacation! I just don't think Georgia in July is going to be quite the same.

That sounds like a perfect day to me! I miss England terribly and become jealous when anyone visits my city, London. They also have the best TV. I got my parents hooked on Gavin and Stacey. Now when we call home, we greet each other with "hiya" or "what's occurin'?" I've also taken to calling my husband "Mick," and love telling him that "we're going to have a falling out." Although the title characters are cute, I find the rest of the cast more interesting. It makes me smile just thinking about it. =)
